His hearing was supposed to take place yesterday, but due to an injury sustained by one of his lawyers, the hearing has been postponed until tomorrow. (She fell down the stairs and possibly broke her foot. I've done that. I thumped around for two weeks like Long John Silver.)
Just a reminder of it all from a year ago (April 1, 2009) on Democracy Now, when Amy Goodman spoke to him after he had to do his scheduled talks by video link to Canadians.

They are not scared of Galloway because of security - they are scared because he is super-eloquent. Have heard him speak live many times in Scotland and never failed to be inspired.
ReplyDeleteI saw him speak (not in person, worse luck) at his U.S. Senate hearing where he was accused of either Money-for-Oil or sponsoring terrorism. They were determined to get him either way. Of course, they were using either old or bad (or maybe both) evidence. He pointed that out to them himself.
ReplyDeleteHe was brilliant. He sounded like he was about to explode but managing to keep a lid on it. I also heard his speeches from November 2007 and early 2009. He made me want to stand up and cheer.
I just saw the he lost his seat in the election last week. Damn!
