Chalmers Johnson: August 6, 1931 - November 20, 2010

Rest in peace, Mr. Johnson. Your books were an inspiration.

Chalmers Johnson

We lose the good ones too soon and the bad ones hang around far too long, destroying things for everybody.

  1. Oh wow
I have a few of his books.
    He will be missed.

  2. The last time I saw him on a video, about six months ago, he didn't look well. He had the drawn look of someone in chronic pain. I've read his Blowback Trilogy in the past and his last book, "Dismantle the Empire", about a month ago.

So smart, so lucid. I really felt like I'd lost a friend. I guess that happens when someone's writings make an impression on you, like his did.

  4. I read two of his books when they came out.
After one reads them a whole new light comes on.

  5. I missed this altogether, I am very sorry to say. I am also a fan of his work, and many of my students loved his books and bought all of them. I use parts of each as assigned readings. So sorry that he has passed.
